6.1.4 Soil analysis

Soil sampling was performed before planting and after two vegetation periods  as indicated in the soil sampling scheme.

Similarly as in the initial soil analyses, a high variation in the final soil extraction results was found.

In general, a strong decrease of soil contamination was observable, which however, also occurs in the non-planted variants.

Dendroremediation effects, found for growth-bioindication and time course of soil leaching, could not be confirmed by soil core analyses.

Thus, soil core analyses are not suited for (short-term!) dendroremediation control in situ.
