6.2.5 Predictability of the dendroremediation process

Predictability of dendroremediation is basing on the network of our results in outdoor trials, dendrotoxicity experiments, determinations of the fate of pollutants, radiotracer results, transpiration measurements, and yield estimations in the field

We are able to make rough calculation of both, the tree-specific dendroremediation capacity of newly planted trees and the natural attenuation potential of adult trees growing in TNT contaminated site forests.

Concluding from our project results we are able to make proposals for the use of trees for sanitation purposes and for the enhancement of natural attenuation.

Characteristics of the examined trees and their suitability for dendroremediation are summarized in the linked DendroRemediation Tables.

Thus, we have a decision help, which kind of trees should be planted on the respective area or the respective decontamination system.
